I installed the package just fine and got to the setup dialog for creating a glom file, but then the application crashes once I create the file. When I tried to open the file I just created it tells me it can't open the file and presents me with the setup dialog again.
That's interesting. I just found another problem that made self-hosting impossible (installer updated), but it should not crash, of course. Can you reproduce this?
Hi,
I've been trying to run glom, but it keeps flaking out saying that postgres can't run as an admin user. Since I'm hoping to use this under XP for my SO, so that she can create an archeology catalogue, this is a bit limiting. Is there any way to make this work? David
That's a limitation in the postgresql server. I don't know whether there is a workaround, and if there was one, it would probably not be wise to use it.
Alternatively, you can install postgresql manually from http://www.postgresql.org and tell glom to connect to a locally running server instead of hosting its own.
Also remember that this is an installer for the 1.7/1.8 branch, which is currently unstable. So even if it installed perfectly, you shouldn't rely on it for every day work.
